The Kandanad  East Elders’ Forum, which was reorganized in 2023, is the reunification of an organization that had ceased operations as the diocese focused on church reconciliation efforts following the Supreme Court ruling of 1995. The organization focuses on prioritizing the physical, mental, spiritual and social welfare activities of the community as mentioned above. Hope, Delight, Communion are our Motto.

The Elders’ forum members at  Muvattupuzha Cathedral Parish meet  on  Fridays every week regularly at 10 am for 2 hours at the church for singing devotional songs, intercessory prayers and bible study or reflections led by the respected vicars.   Members are paying visits  and having fellowship with those who are confined to their homes due to the natural weariness and illness of old age along with the respected Vicars of the Church.

We have conducted one day retreat led by Fr. Jacob Manajli,  Health awareness class led by Dr. Ronin  Sebastian,  Leadership training workshop conducted by Prof.[Dr] Mary Matilda former principal of Maharaja’s College Ernakulam.  We have sponsored a “ Drug abuse awareness” program for the Sunday school children with the support of The Central Excise department.  We are honoring the veteran members by inviting them to the Church and  presenting them with mementos in  recognition of  their valuable contributions to the society.

A study program of the above mentioned  book  is underway that presents clear perspectives on the church and the Christian life. Many members are participating with enthusiasm  in this learning process. The study is led by Rev.Fr. Abraham Karamel and supplemented by  H.G. Dr. Thomas Mar Athanasius Thirumeni.
